~ The Boys won Best International Group at the Much Music Video Music Awards. The show was cancelled due to the tradgedy of September 11th and the winners were televised in a wrapup show.
~ I’m sure you all have heard the wonderful news of AJ’s engagement. *insert sarcasm here* Here’s his offical statement when he called in to KIIS FM in LA:
"I just popped the question. I just wanna let everybody know that the Backstreet Boys are not ones to hide anything. I mean obviously, especially with me going into rehab. I came out and told everybody the truth and told everybody that I had a problem and I went and fixed it, and I've got 5 ½ months sober. I just got a whole knew life ahead of me and I'm ready to stop being a "playa" as everyone calls 'em and I'm ready to grow up and move on. And I've found the woman of my dreams. She makes me very happy.”

~ The Boys are taping an upcoming episode of Sesame Street and the cartoon Arthur where they are going to be rabbits. Awwww...lol They are also appearing on Rosie but the date hasn’t been released yet.
~ Aaron and Nick are hosting TRL on Monday. The video for Drowning also premieres that day as well! :-) Set your VCR’s...it’s going to be a crazy show!

~ Due to the Backstreet Boys being invited to perform at the VH1 New York City Victim Tribute Concert the October 20th Concert at the Coors Amphitheater has been cancelled. Tickets are refundable at point of purchase!
~ The Boys are participating in the United We Stand tribute concert on October 21st in Washington DC along with Nsync, P. Diddy, Aerosmith, Matchbox 20 and other celebrities.
~ Chapter One’s release has been pushed back until October 30th.
~ According to Jive’s website, the video for Drowning will be on MTV October 15th. It’s about damn time!

~ The Boys didn’t win anything at the VMA’s. I don’t want to talk about it. Humph.
~ The Much Music Awards have been cancelled due to the tradgedy on September 11th.
~ Backstreet Boy crew member Daniel Lee died on Flight 11 that crashed into One World Trade Center. He was a carpenter for the tour. He was on his way home to LA to be with his pregnant wife who was due to give birth by cesarean two days later. The Boys are raising money to help his family.
~ Nick is among the many artists who will sing on a track written by Michael Jackson called “What More Can I Give” to raise money for the families of the victims of the terrorist attacks.

~ The Backstreet Boys are releasing a greatest hits CD/VHS/DVD called “Chapter One” on October 23. It will include the brand new single “Drowning”. The video for “Drowning” will premiere on MTV on September 19th. The Online Fanclub has clips from the song and pix from the video. The song sounds amazing and the video clips....YOWSA! The Boys said that they will be adding the song to their encore but no one knows when. I’m guessing they’re going to start the night of the 19th because the video was premiered that day. Which would be awesome because I’ll be at that show. :-)
~ The Boys will be presenting at the VMA’S It will be for the first award so they can get back to NJ for their show. They are currently ahead of Nsync for the Viewer’s Choice Award, but not by much so head over to MTV.com and VOTE!!!!
~ Brian and Leighanne launched a new record label during the break from touring called BriLeigh Productions. They currently have no clients yet but have put offers out to some artists. They are not sticking strictly to music, but would like to do television and movies as well.
~ Howie is carrying the Olympic torch in Salt Lake City for the 2002 games! Go Howie!!!!!
~ Sisqo will be taking Shaggy’s place as opening act. Thank God. I didn’t like him. Now I’m gonna need to bust out my thong for the Cleveland show....LOL

~ Nicky broke his hand. He had a cast on it at Saturday’s Boston show. Kevin said he punched a wall. Whether that’s true or not, no one knows. Some have said he hurt it playing softball, basketball, and falling off the drums. Who knows what really happened. So, this means that he won’t be playing the drums, ripping off his sleeve for Not For Me, playing the guitar during Everybody or humping the floor. That sucks! :-( At any rate, I just hope he gets better soon. And if he needs someone to be his right hand for a while, he knows who to call! ;-)

Here’s some news:
-while the others were in executive class on the
flight down, Nick got bold and sat in economy
(gasp! lol) with 'a blond friend.' During the
flight Brian asked for tea, Howie ate salad and
Nick used a pillow to sleep on that friend's
shoulder
-some fans were savvy enough to find out the Boys
got there early and rushed the airport AJ and Kevin stayed outside while the others hightailed for the hotel.
-AJ bought 2 shirts and Bermuda shorts in the
men's store in the hotel for 122 bucks.
-Golfed, used the pool at the hotel
This was at the beach behind the hotel. There
were five bodyguards: 2 in the water, 3 out and
he let the photographers take pics despite the
fact security tried not to let it happen. He was
with 2 dancers Ted and Brian and 2 girls fainted
on the scene.
-Kevin went out to do boxing

Howie, AJ, Nick and Aaron are planning on attending the Lupus 2001 benefit concert this year. It will be June 1st at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando. Pollyanna is also going to be there.
Pollyanna will be opening up for the tour in South America.
